1 MONTH AND other little things.

Madden is 7 weeks today...but I am NOT that far BEHIND!
After 4 weeks of pretty much EYES closed...Madden has now decided to open them a bit more!

But he is still a sleepy little guy...Whitty was not this sleepy....maybe it's cuz he's 3 weeks early...
Seems like everyone is sleepy except for the NIGHT owl mama!
Sometimes I amaze myself at my ability to carry on. Sometimes I am ONE IMPATIENT person...but mostly with this robot here and my hubs...bummer for them!
This is becoming a weekend HABIT...making pies...or other little treats...

This little guy is beginning to look at me but LOVES to look for at AT Whitty McKay Griffin.

While the wee one sleeps we have still managed to get outdoors. It's not much...but it's something.
And sometimes I just bring the wee one with me...which he loves...
And then this is the product of wearing your baby!
Sometimes we make it out for ice cream...mostly we make it to gymnastics...but I don't have any pictures of that. We have been regulars tho. We go usually every Monday and Tuesday for an hour. It's helps Whitty to get his ya-yas out and for me to get OUT somewhere safe with the baby...and to not feel anxious...
And sometimes we just VEG out on PBS...thank god for cable right now!
We are pushing up hard...doing some tummy time...
Madden loves the occasional swaddle...not always tho. WHitty wouldn't sleep without the swaddle...or the swing...or the shhhhhhhh....or the.....
hehehehee.
THis one just goes to sleep!

Such a snuggle bug. We love these new pjs from Bill and Bev Reed. They are always so kind to send us gifts for both boys all the time. So sweet.

Planting...Halloween...and a sugar hangover.

During our days...Whitty and I find cool things to do....like giving the MOMMA spider plant a haircut and then rooting and planting one of the babies. Whitty thought having his very own plant was the BEST idea ever.
It's not in his room and he loves talking about it...carrying it everywhere and TOUCHING the crap out of it.
Halloween fell on Wednesday this year....poor teachers everywhere...thankfully I am not teaching right now...but I did get to drop this Halloween scary guy off at school. With his impressive dress up box...he chose to be a scary guy....oh so scary huh?!
They didn't do a party at Discoveries. Whitty's teacher is smart. She knew they would be sugared up later that day...and this was the first time we really let Whityn go at it with candy. I would say he did pretty well.
While Whitty is at school...Madden and I lay around...he nurses and sleeps and I am not sure what I do.

When the scary guy got home...we hit up some snacks...and tried on wigs..masks and costumes to make sure he wanted to be a scary guy...
I thought we settled on this...
And then we went trick or treating like this...
First stop...Millie's house. We trick or treated with the Trombley's this year.
 Then we snuggled in bed...

And wound up with a candy hangover the following day...

Hernias

What is it with HERNIAs around here? Whitty had his little hernia repair in September...then we had little Madden bless us with his appearance and he now has a umbilical hernia...Isn't it crazy looking? Apparently it's very common.

And we just brought Whitty back to the doctor...all went well with his repair...but we learned now he has an umbilical hernia too. We were told they will heal themselves...and if not sometimes surgery is needed.

THE "GREAT" Nonna...

So when my water broke my mom was notified right away and damn sure enough she was on a plane a day later to be with her grandchildren.
Having my mom here was VERY helpful. She held babies...made dinners...taxied preschoolers...cleaned up...grocery shopped in jackson with a major case of the PINK eye (YIKES)...folded clothes and even marched them upstairs to be put away.
Moms are great because you can dress like a slob in front of them...have your boobs hanging out in front of them...freak out in front of them...fall asleep in front of them....it doesn't matter because it's your mom and I couldn't imagine having anyone else here for that length of time.
Who else would instruct Whityn on how to feed a newborn a bottle (when clearly he is focused on Curious George on the TV)...
Who else would snuggle Madden so soft and warm and sacrifice their own bladder exploding?

Who else would stay inside all cozy by the fire and allow me to head outside to be with this little owl?

Cause without Nonna...this is what I am left with. And look closely cause Madden has resorted to feeding himself. :)
 For a minute anyhow...
Thank you Nonna for coming to the rescue...cause clearly we can't raise children without you or that's how you see it. We are lost without you. Let us know when you are coming back so that we can look forward to eating again and having a clean house. Love you.
