sick baby?

whitty did daycare today...dropped him shortly after 10 AM...worked in my classroom for 4 hours..then headed back that way...THE DAYCARE called while i was in drive...to say:
hey...whit just woke from his nap...and he has a temp. of 104.8.....
me: uh, what? are you sure? I am almost there.
these were taken the other day...he's not this happy today...
so we took him to see t.lerch...ears=fine....throat=fine...however he still has 102 fever now..but is sleeping...poor baby. he's very fussy and sad...and i hate that.
can't wait for him to be back to his crazy, banging...varoom sounding...fast crawling self.
until then: motrin..here we come.

the girls..and oh yes they did.

okay...so whitty and i walked out to the coop a few days ago to gather the eggs...but a girl was there so we left and came back...to find the girl was there...this went on for awhile until i came in later the next day...to find this!
the girl was still there and another girl was on top trying to lay her eggs...i was a bit confused...because we have 3 egg-laying boxes...why this girl was on the other girl....hmmm.
however, later that night..i went back and found the girl still there...jordy told me to lift her up...and i was nervous cause sometimes they peck you if they are laying...but i think she might of been sleeping because she let me pick her right up...and underneath her i found 12 eggs...that a dozen people...what the heck...???
however after some thinking, i am wondering if she was trying to hatch them....cause she was like horton the elephant...she wasn't budging.
so i think she let the other girls lay on top of her and then she would move a little to let the eggs settle under her...very weird...
but with a little watermelon...she made a full recovery. it's okay girl...

practically done.

this was taken a few minutes ago...jordy is staining trim and doors. this man works like a dog.
do you like the color? we didn't at first...not enough contrast..but once it was painted...we loved it...warm and cheery..notice the floors are done too, minus the staining..
breakie nook.
standing in the nook looking into main house.
largest mudroom in Victor, Idaho.

it's a watusi!

thursday whitty and i went to the fair. we headed straight to the petting farm...he loved the watusi...i think i could of left, got my hair done...went for a run....and came back and he would of still been holding on laughing...
not a great face shot...but he loved trying to imitate these bird sounds...it was so cute.
that's about all we did..except for check out the exhibits...walk through the tent...and back home we went.

picture perfect weekend with the Schells

so friday we set off for yet another summer adventure...yet this time we were accompanied by the cutest family from Lander, Wyoming. we had loaded canoes...one 14 footer and one 16 footer...4 adults and 3 children under the age of 3...for a two night backcountry camping extravaganza...crazy? or Adventurous?

This was my first picture taken....after we (I mean Jordy) paddled us through String lake to the Leigh Lake portage in Grand Teton National Park...
we received a GOOD KARMA award from a nice gentleman with a boat dolly who offered to help portage both canoes to the NEXT lake....
Rene and I were psyched...all we had to do was carry the kids.
And if you were wondering why I wasn't paddling...here's why?
this is what Whityn did all the way across Leigh Lake to our campsite.
Setting up camp...gotta love the crazy creek chair...these toddlers do.
Whityn was excited to put on his snuggies and have a snack...
Charlotte was excited to be at one with her bowl full of spaghetti
Jordy ALWAYS makes way too much spaghetti...he has this thing with measuring the noodles and insisting on needing more...that he didn't make enough...I try to tell him..but, it's useless. This is what was left after we all stuff ourselves.
then there was some campfire time.
and a family picture where Whityn plays with my hair....he loves it when it's down..he thinks I am like this whole new mommy.
Father/Daughter canoe rides at sunset...
And always save room for a smore...or two..or three..or four!
then it's off to bed...in which i read 41 pages of my new book...and this little guy slept good...woke once in the wee hours crying...but had a wee-hour bottle...and that was that.
and then he woke at sunrise.
And there was some walking in the woods...both adults equipped with bear spray (safety off)...
a short walk landed us here...it was beautiful.
the girls...plus whityn..but you can only see his hat.
there was some fishing...both fly and spin
there was lots of sunscreen applied to cute little bummies...by wonderful mommas.
and some even caught a fish....rene ran on over to check it out.
there was family time.
and icy cold Lake dips......even the little ones went in..except for whityn..i decided not to subject him to that....not yet anyhow.
proof.
refreshing!
there was little people pow-wows.
and more walks into the woods.
and girl talks...and mothering...and tummy aches...and bug bites...and sibling fun...and sleep.
and breakfast bottles...tent naps...fleece in July...wool socks...
and then even though we could stay for awhile...it was time to go...but what a treat...to leave on a glassy lake....
guess who fell asleep instantly....yep, you guessed it. he hated that d*&n life jacket...so he closed his eyes and drifted off to nappyland.
Back on String...and guess who got to paddle...YEP, me....I got to practice my J-stroke...even though I didn't really get it...I tried it...and understand it..but need to practice it more...and I even invented some strokes...like the Griffin Stroke...and the S and K stroke...all of which should of been photographed by Jordy but he was too busy tending to Whitty..

thanks reid, rene, timothy and charlotte...for a wonderful weekend that we will definitely be repeating next year! You guys are a wonderful family to be around....see you in 3 weeks at the Green River Lakes for another camping adventure.

coming right along.
