Only 4 days to go....

How on earth am I supposed to go back to work on Friday FULL time? I am nervous...scared...excited...confused....depressed....and just too plain tired to comprehend all the emotions I feel. Last night...around 2am....I was up...and just buried my head in my pillow and boo-hooed....i woke jordy...and he wrapped his arms around me until i woke up again to Whit crying out for me....I gladly went to get him and brought him to bed with me and just nursed and snuggled him.
*I read in a book right after I had Whit that if you wake up in the night with your baby...don't look at it like you are missing out on sleep...look at it like you get to spend time with your baby...I have taken that advice to heart...and I gladly get up in the night and wee hours of the morning to hold, nurse, snuggle, comfort, love....and rock my baby because there are so many women who would love to be doing what I am getting to do. I feel so fortunate to have had this time off with Whityn for his first 3 months on earth. I am so blessed.

  1. Awww...that is so sweet! I HATED having to go back to work when I had Anderson. I too had 3 months with him and it was AWESOME! He is precious! And he looked adorable in his dragon costume!:)

  2. I know exactly how you are feeling... except I chickened out and called my work 2 days before I was supposed to go back and told them NO! It is so hard I'm sure... Drake just started sleeping through the night (sort of) last week, so I get you on the night time stuff! Whit is adorable!! Good luck on going back to work.

  4. Anderson did go to a lady who had a three year old of her own. I was nursing, so on my planning period, I pumped and pumped and pumped some more. At lunch I would pump. And I nursed Anderson until he was 14 months old. It was very hard to leave him, I cried horribly the first day, but it gets easier. You're a teacher like I was and the kids keep you really busy, which is good, so you don't think about it all day after a while. Just periodically throughout the day.

  5. Oh yea! Well, the schools have to be, I think it's discrimination (seriously) if they don't give you time to! You CAN do it for 14 months (if you want to) I used blessed thistle supplement (pills that are found in vitamin/health food stores) and it's totally safe and it made me a dairy cow.hahaha! It will work out! I promise :)

  6. Hey friend, I found your name on Susannah's blog. I was a teacher too and went back to work 12 weeks after my baby was born. It was really hard leaving her in the mornings, but after I got there it was not so bad. And like Susannah said, you'll be so busy w/the kids it makes the day go by fast! I would leave as fast as I could in the afternoons to get home to her!! And I pumped at work too-locked my door 2x a day and pumped in my classroom at the back sink-not very glamorous! Good luck and I'll say a prayer for you on Friday-you can do it! And good way to start back w/1 day and then off for the weekend!

  7. You can do it. And you will be enjoying your midnight snuggles even more. Before you know it summer will be here.
I too have enjoyed my midnight snuggles with both kiddos, they will be over soon enough. I still get to snuggle with Timothy twice a night and I cherish it because he is not a big snuggler.
He is so darn cute! I love his little milk tounge. Enjoy, they are sooooo precious.
